Minimum Outside Air Damper Control
This article addresses maintaining constant minimum outside air in variable air volume (VAV) systems as supply air quantity changes. Figure 1 shows a typical outside air (OA) intake system and lists some factors that affect flow through the OA intake. The outside air minimum ventilation control must be coordinated with those other factors. A discussion of how to achieve that coordination is reserved for another article. This article focuses on the minimum outside air control. Citation: ASHRAE Journal, vol. 44, no. 4, April 2002
