Liquid subcooling/air reheating is an old technology that has not been widely used and has been largely forgotten or ignored. However, it has been successfully used in food stores by three manufacturers and in single packaged air conditioners. The authors note that system moisture removal in the subcooling mode with refrigerant R-410A is approximately 50% greater than with R-22. The down side is that equipment runtime and operating costs are increased.
