Emerging Technologies: Commercial Envelopes

More than 5 million buildings, totaling more than 80 billion ft2 of floor space, comprise the U.S. commercial building stock. These inefficient buildings will continue to waste energy unless improved. The authors discuss the need for implementation of energy saving technologies through retrofits to the current commercial stock to achieve energy saving goals.
