Hall of Fame: Energy Simulation in the Building Design Process
The second in the Hall of Fame series is from the August 1983 ASHRAE Journal and describes the development of energy simulation. The authors note that when this article was originally printed, energy modeling was rarely a part of the architectural and engineering design process. Today, energy modeling is a mainstay of the design process. Life-cycle costing with energy modeling has been mandatory for public sector projects for more than 25 years.
