Corrections facilities are like small towns. They have all the energy demands of housing as well as specialty functions. Deer Ridge Correctional Institution in Madras, Ore., has reduced its energy consumption by 37% and the design teams efforts have enabled the facility to save nearly 35% over the ASHRAE Standard 90.1-1999 baseline.
