Thermosyphon oil coolers (TSOC) operate as unique high-temperature chillers using high-pressure liquid ammonia saturated at 70F to 95F (21C to 35C), and evaporating in the TSOC at the system condensing pressure 70F to 95F (21C to 35C). This is made possible by using a gravity feed recirculation refrigerant system based on drawing liquid ammonia from a receiver or auxiliary liquid supply.
