Reference Guide for Dynamic Models of HVAC Equipment
Dynamic HVAC equipment models are useful in energy management for studying optimal control strategies. These models may be used to minimize cyclic losses, to fix start/stop times and to get better control of electricity peak power requirements. This publication identifies and describes the available dynamic models for HVAC related equipment. Over 500 references were analyzed in this guide to cover: duct and pipe models, heat and mass exchanger models, air flow dynamics models, boiler and furnace models, heat pump and chiller models (including vapor compression and absorption systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators and expansion valves and control) controllers, sensors and actuators.
