Dehumidification Performance of HVAC Systems
Microbial contamination is a common cause of occupant complaints and indoor air quality (IAQ) problems in buildings. ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62-2001, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) both recom-mend that indoor relative humidity be maintained below 60% to minimize the risks of microbial growth.
