Frost on Air-Cooling Evaporators

This article focuses on the operation of air-cooling evaporators in industrial refrigeration applications at temperatures below freezing. Moisture from the cooled air can form frost on the fins and tubes of the coil, resulting in decreased cooling capability. This article shows the factors that influence coil capacity during frosting and how to minimize effects.
