Thermostatic expansion valves (TEVs) are the most widespread expansion device used in supermarket refrigerating machines, however, TEVs have characteristics that can limit versatility and performance. This article poses one possible solution to TEVs, the electronic expansion valve (EEV), and discusses the surprising results from a parallel test of the two technologies conducted in a large supermarket in Italy.
